Cops knew this. Today, everyone dresses sloppy for a reason. No tie, no risk. But, around machines, trucks, and other things, that loose tie can get you jerked into something. In my time, when the shirt was the outer garment, that was the uniform regulation. When the shirt was beneath a jacket (blouse), the tie was not tucked, but a tie clip was used. I don’t know what the current regulations are.

In my opinion when a girl tucks her shirt in she wants to show off her thin waist. All branches have daily battle dress uniforms that consist of trousers, a jacket worn over a t-shirt, boots, and a cover. Every branch has a different name for each. The t-shirt is worn tucked into the trousers. The jacket is worn over and is not tucked in.
