Throwing a metal wastebasket, a desk, a soccer ball, a smart phone playing loud music or a YouTube video or Netflix action movie, cafeteria tray and dishes, etc. are all viable distractions in a school. If schools still had chalk instead of Dry-Erase markers a thrown piece of chalk against a wall is surprisingly loud, a few teachers could awaken dozing students in some of my classrooms.
