We had High School Rifle Teams. We were taught at an early age that bad actions resulted in bad consequences, usually a very sore bottom for a day or two and restriction of privileges for anywhere from a week or up to a month or more depending on the infraction. Being confined to ones own home and yard for a week or a full month other than when attending school was pure discipline and a child learned fast what he/she could and could not do and what was acceptable behavior and what was NOT.

We had semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and handguns back then. Very few “mass shootings” of any kind in any year so how can it be the fault of the guns?? In any event most of those then were related to some criminal activity when one did occur.
